Eleanor's First Time Playing

Ahh, note the fine motor skills as she grips the leg of the hanging toy and simultaneously seeks out her thumb. We pulled out this really exciting "Activitot - Developmental Gym Sun Garden" after she was caught multiple times pulling her hair and making herself scream.

We think she has reached a new phase... For the first two weeks she had three major activities: To Sleep, To Eat, To Poop. During this phase she would usually stop eating to poop and look surprised in the act of pooping.

Then she found her lungs... and her activity chain changed to incorporate the desperate feed-me-now scream. She also learned the not-so-delicate act of burping which resulted in several silent gyser explosions as we figured out the best way to let the milk settle :) To Sleep, To Cry, To Eat/Poop, To Burp. You will note that pooping is directly associated with eating... her eyes get wide and she only briefly stops to acknowledge the act.

And now, just in the past couple of days, she has started to stay awake for longer periods of time between feeding. She's curious and likes to examine her hands, kick her legs and make lots of adorable sounds. Her eating is ferocious and action oriented, pooping is merely an expected part of the game now and seems to just encourage her to suckle harder. To Sleep, To Cry, To EatPoop, To Burp, To Play.

We'll keep you posted on further developmental milestones :)

4 weeks: Adorable (delightful, loveable, charming)
